Connecticut, Waterbury, Waterbury Bank, $100, Jan 1, 1859, seated woman with plow at center, old ink notation on face reads "Received, Paid and Canceled January 13, 1908 by the Waterbury National Bank", there is also a signature (cashier?) that I can't quite read, in my opinion, this is a very high quality and deceptive counterfeit that the bank should have never redeemed in 1908, the buying power of this note 100 years ago was probably $2000 or more! This note has a large taped tear which has resulted in staining along the right side, there are also many pinholes, an impaired higher grade, the net grade of this fascinating historical relic is perhaps good or very good.   $95   photo
